HAPPY 50TH ANNIVERSARY
Vermont Precision Tools, Inc. (VPT) held an Open House on September 29, 2018 to celebrate 50 years in business.
Vermont Precision Tools was founded in 1968 by Norman (Norm) Leduc and Raymond Boutin. At the 40th VPT anniversary celebration, Norm described their first location as a "humble 800 Sq foot building on Brooklyn Street"
By 2003, VPT was occupying three buildings and continuing to grow. With sales increasing each year, there was a great need to relocate under one roof. With much hard work, many challenges, the assistance of FCIDC and several partners, a 90,000 sq. ft. Multi-Tenant Building was constructed at Precision Lane in Swanton.
In 2017 an additional 17,000 sq. ft. was added. VPT employs approximately 230 people at the Swanton facility as part of their total 350 colleagues from all locations.
Vermont Business Magazine reported in 2017 that VPT was selected for the distinction of being the 11th fastest growing Manufacturer in the State over the last 30 years.
